Special News from Around the KW Community

Thank you Cross Body!

This past November, Special Olympics Kitchener-Waterloo collaborated with Cross Body Pro Wrestling Academy for an epic fundraiser. Thanks to their amazing efforts and hard work, especially that of owner Ben Ortmann, this wrestling event became the highest grossing fundraiser for SO-KW, outside of our annual Colour Run. This event raised $4808, so over the Easter weekend, we presented Ben with a special Easter treat - a thank you plaque and adorable stuffed rabbit. Community helping community.

W.C.I. Joint Basketball Practice

For the past 5-6 years, the players of the Waterloo Collegiate Institute have been participating in joint practices with our Special Olympics athletes. This collaboration is one that all players love and appreciate, as they learn from each other.

What A Wonderful Community!

Many thanks Cambridge & North Dumfries Community Foundation. Their donation to Special Olympics KW supported an athlete at the National Games in Antigonish.

Thank you Justin Lavoie and Coach Janice Cooper

Special Olympics would love to extend their thanks to Justin Lavoie, V.P at Colliers International for his generous donation that will help support our athletes. We truly appreciate your ongoing support!

Many thanks to Coach Janice Cooper for her Stantec funding request for Dollars to Doers. This donation will continue to support the Track and Field Club. Thank you to Stantec for your continued support.

OHL Rangers Puck Drop

Thank you to OHL Kitchener Rangers for recognizing Special Olympics at

their home game on November 20th. Stacey loved being able to drop the

puck and our athletes were thrilled to volunteer beside police officers

collecting donations. We appreciate your support.
